Why we Teach and Preach The WORD
We must earnestly and confidently Contend for the Faith
I John 2:18-19 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
There are many false apostles and preachers who are posing as ministers, but are impostors and apostates. Even when an individual has Rev. prefacing the name, this should not be reason to be a pastor. There are too many misfits in the pulpits who are leading God’s people astray and who do not not know the Word or even how to lead others because they themselves do not want to be led. How then can they lead others?
Jude spoke about the apostate and encourages true believers and those who are called into ministry to “earnestly contend for the faith” which all believers should be able to confidently do. This requires study of the Word to learn and gain knowledge for personal wisdom and to help others (II Timothy 2:15).
Jude 1:3-4 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Here at Shekinah Theological College, we teach the Word in response to “What does the Word say?” The Church or institution of learning which does not preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ as He gave it to the Apostles and who left it for the local church, are heretics. They do not accept the Word, or honour the Lord Jesus. Instead, they will alter the teachings to support their own beliefs.
